Italy earthquake: Federal Minister for Human Rights expresses deep grief over loss of lives in dire tragedy

Following massive devastation and loss of valuable lives in Italy as a result of the massive quake in Italy, Pakistani Minister for Human Rights has expressed heartfelt sorrow and grief. In a message subsequent to the catastrophe, he offered prayers for the victims and affectees and voices solidarity with Italy in this time of distress.

In his message he also offered prayers for recuperation of the injured as well as rehabilitation of the affectees. “May God grants courage and strength to our Italian brethren.” He further stated that he prays that may God safeguards Italian people and bestows His peace and comfort to the victims.

On Wednesday August 24, an earth quake of magnitude 6.2 struck central Italy, leaving village of Pescara del Tronto leveled to the ground while much of the town of Amatrice was reduced to rubble. Death toll reached to 250, while hundreds in hospitals are receiving treatment for the injuries they sustained.

Search and rescue operation for survivors intensifies; while Italian Premier Matteo Renzi pledged fresh funding for rebuilding quake-devastated central Italy. Charitable assistance began gushing in the earthquake zone. Various Church groups hailing from a variety of Christian denominations, along with Italian farmers had offered peaches, pumpkins and plums to Amatrice.
