A day of re-commitment, was observed by the Jesus Youth Karachi’ members on the occasion of the feast day of Saint Matthias the apostle. The event kicked off by a Holy Mass at Saint Joseph’ Convent Chapel. This mass was celebrated by Reverend Father Saleh Diego-Vicar general of Archdiocese of Karachi, along with six others priests including Father Nazar Nawab, Father Benjamin Shahzad, Father Noman Arif, Father Shahzad Arshad, Father Pervez Khalid and Father Javed Kashif OFM Cap.
While addressing the Jesus Youth members and others present at this occasion, Father Saleh Diego noted, that he felt overwhelmed to to see many young Catholics ensuring their commitment to serve of God. He acknowledged the zeal of the youngsters for making themselves available for the evangelical service.
He went on to express his pleasure over the exclusive devotion, deference and commitment of the Jesus Youth members and said that they are ministering to the Church in various capacities and in many countries along with the Church in Archdiocese of Karachi. He explained that their great fervor and persuasion for missionary work is what makes Jesus Youth different from other ministers.He further, acknowledged the way JY members are expediting people in coming to the Lord in particular facilitating the youth to realize Christ.
While emphasizing on the feast of Saint Matthias, the apostle; he urged the Jesus Youth Pakistan Karachi’s members to serve the Church as contemporary apostles. Jesus Youth members under took examination before reciting their vows of allegiance, followed by the mass. The fresh candidates were questioned in order to asses their faith based acquaintance with spirituality. Subsequent to the examination of the new candidates, the already committed members of the Jesus Youth renewed their vows of committal.
