Jingle bells echo in President’s House: All Pakistanis are equal President avers


President Mamnoon Hussain hosts a Christmas celebrations ceremony at the Presidency in Islamabad. In this connection a lavish ceremony was organized at the President House which was attended by the Premier and other prominent national and Christian leaders. “Bold steps are being taken to promote interfaith harmony in the country,” President said while addressing the guests.

Christmas celebrations in Islamabad

During his address President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain said that all Pakistanis are equal in the eyes of state, government and law. He went on to declare that the flag of Pakistan is a representation of the Non-Muslim Pakistanis also. He said that religious minorities are being given their due share in all sectors in the country. He asserted Pakistani nation has utterly rejected terrorism and extremism in all of its forms. At the same time President Mamnoon extended his heartiest felicitation to the Christians saying that he wishes them a joyous and peaceful Christmas.

Addressing a ceremony in connection with Christmas celebrations at President House in Islamabad, he. He said Pakistan’s flag represents minorities. President Mamnoon said that the nation has rejected elements causing discord and bloodshed.The government will continue implementation of National Action Plan till elimination of last terrorist.

This ceremony was also attended by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf and Federal Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael. Christians from across the country also attended this event, as excitement and festivity was writ large on every face as jingle bells echoed.

At this occasion various church leaders including Bishop Alexander Malik, Bishop Dominic Javed, Archbishop of Lahore Sebastian Francis Shaw O.F.M. and various other pastors and Christian political workers were also invited to attend the ceremony.

In this connection the President Mamoon, PM Nawaz, Senator Kamran Michael, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf Bishop Alexander Mailk, Bishop Dominic Javed and the Bishop Francis Shaw collectively cut a special Christmas cake to mark the festivity of the season.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said that the minorities are playing vital role in development process in the country. Federal Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael also addressed the function and extended Christmas greetings to Christians.
