John Kerry tells Pakistan to overturn all militant groups after the Peshawar school massacre.
According to media reports, US secretary of state John Kerry has condemned continued existence of terrorists as he visits Pakistan. John Kerry also said that Pakistan must fight militant groups that threaten Afghan, Indian and US interests, as he offered commiseration for the victims of last month’s mass killings at a school.
John Kerry said all militant groups should be targeted in order to achieve peace in the region. “Terror groups like the Pakistani and Afghan Taliban, the Haqqani network, Lashkar-e-Taiba and other groups continue to pose a threat to Pakistan, to its neighbours and to the United States,” he said during a news conference in Islamabad.
“And all of us have a responsibility to ensure that these groups do not gain a foothold but rather are pushed back into the recesses of memory … Make no mistake. The task is a difficult one and it is not done,” he added.
