PESHAWAR: The Joyce Meyer Ministries reach out to the victims of the All Saints Church blasts victims.
By the agency of Hand of Hope an extended mission of the Joyce Meyer Ministries, 15,000 Rupees cash was distributed to every family victimized by the All Saints Church bombings. The money was distributed in a function organized at the Peshawar Press Club; the National Coordinator of Hand of Hope- Dr Robin Asghar said: Rs15000 cash among each family of blasts’ victims and Rs2000 among the 30 widows were distributed.
Dr. Robin Asghar went on to say: Hand of Hope is the mission’s arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries and its goal was to help as many victims as possible, to alleviate human suffering and to help Christians grow in their faith. At this occasion he said that the Joyce Meyer Ministries are providing treatment facilities to the six injured of the All Saints Church blasts, who are admitted in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Islamabad and Christian Hospital in Taxila.
The two attackers struck at the end of a service at All Saints Church in Peshawar, killing at least 100and more than 150 injured. The victims of the blast included children and women who were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital. The blast also shattered the windows of nearby buildings. The two bombers detonated their explosive vests within an interval of 30 seconds after entering the church. Christians are a tiny and politically weak minority in Muslim-majority Pakistan who suffer from prejudice and sporadic bouts of mob violence. But this was the first time that bombs had been used to such deadly effect on worshippers. Despite the tense situation of the region, the Christian community’s life was going on smoothly but this incident has changed their lives and situation for ever.
As a consequence of these deadly bombings, many families lost their loved ones and high number of people were injured, and are still suffering the pain of going through various surgeries and other treatment. A high number of families lost their children, or vice versa, brothers are longing for their lost sisters, and sisters are mourning the death of brothers. For many, the purpose and hope of living has died; it is damage beyond repair!
