Former Christian lawmaker passes away in Karachi as a result of a fatal heart attack. Member Provincial Assembly of Sindh Michael Javaid suffered from stroke prior to a heart attack. Michael Javaid who hailed from Pakistan Minority Front, had been instrumental in raising the issues of religious minorities specially Christians in Sindh.
Following the sad news of his demise, Christian leaders have poured in their condolences as they express grief over sudden loss of a precious leader of the community. In this regard, Dr. Nazir S. Bhatti head of Pakistan Christian Congress stated: “May Lord comfort his grieved family and friends and bless them with courage to face this grave loss – rest in peace a leader and voice for Christians.”
Anthony Naveed Chief Minister Sindh’s advisor and member of Sindh cabinet expressed sorrow over loss of Michael Javaid in a tweet: “Former MPA & our beloved friend Micheal Javed passed away. May his soul rests in peace. Remember his family in your prayers.”
Ex-MPA Michael Javaid who was chairman of Pakistan Minority Front was widely acclaimed for his services for the Christian community, he had taken up the issues of inter faith harmony, sectarian injustice and many other social issues prevalent in the society.
