Kasur: Blasphemy accused Christian teenager’s bail application moved before the court

A bail petition has been moved for Nabeel, who has been embroiled in a fabricated blasphemy case. 16-years-old, Nabeel Masih son of Amanat Masih is resident of Chak 66, Bhai Pheru, District Kasur in Punjab province. He was accused of committing blasphemy wherefore, his accusers invoked the draconian blasphemy law against him. Consequently, he was charged of 295-A.

Nabeel’s bail application will be taken up during case hearing by the court on October 1, meanwhile he remains apprehended, while his family has been on the flight. Seeing that Section 295-A is of bailable nature, whereas there are slightest of hopes that the court will grant him bail.

Section 295-A deals with deliberate and malevolent acts intended to affront the religious sentiments of any class by means of insulting its religion or religious beliefs, this crime is punishable by either 10 years imprisonment, or fine or else both.

Akhtar Ali the complainant had maintained in the FIR that he had seen an offensive post on Nabeel Masih’s Facebook timeline; which was derogatory towards the Islamic sacred place Khaana-e-Kaaba. He maintained that Nabeel had blasphemed by posting the picture of Khana-e-Kaaba in a derogatory manner therefore, he has hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims.Consequently, Section 295 and 295-A were invoked against the teenage respondent.
