LAHORE: A suspect involved in Kasur child porn case granted pre-arrest bail.

According to the Express Tribune, a division bench of Lahore High Court has granted a pre-arrest bail on Tuesday, August 18. The suspect who is identified as Tanzeelur Rehman, was allegedly a member of the Kasur child abuse gang. He has been granted bail till August 31.

The division bench directed Tanzeelur Rehman to submit two surety bonds of Rs200,000 in order to avail the bail. The suspect’s defence counsel argued before the court, that the police had nominated his client in four different cases registered in connection with the Kasur scandal.

Tanzeel’s lawyer further said that the cases were registered 15-months after the incident on the basis of mere statements, while, still no proof was available against the accused. He maintained that his client wanted to join in the investigations process to prove his innocence.

The division bench comprised of Justice Muhammad Anwaarul Haq and Justice Erum Sajad Gull. The bench after hearing arguments of the defence granted pre-arrest bail to Tanzeelur Rehman till August 31 whilst ordered the police to present the case record.
