Khushab impasse: Timely action thwarts looming attack on Christians

Followed by news that Christians in three villages of Khushab District were imperiled, timely action from Christian leaders has curbed looming attack from Muslim community. Details emerged that Christian villagers of Chak number 36, 37 and 38 nestled in Tehsil Quaidabad in District Khushab were threatened of revengeful attack from local Muslims.

Isaac TV reporter Saleem Iqbal reveals that as soon as the news of this incident reached Pastor Anwar Fazal, he brought the matter in the knowledge of Senator Kamran Michael. Consequently, Senator Kamran Michael took timely action and heavy contingents of police were deployed in the area, in order to thwart any possible clash.

In keeping with details, tensions began after clerics incited local Muslims for vengeance. It is believed that the clashes were activated after a local Christian Sunil eloped with a Muslim girl Saira. Soon after the news of the incident spread, local Muslims started demanding return of the girl.

Christian villagers were being intimidated and pressurized to call the eloped couple back. It was reported that the agitated Muslims had threatened to torch all the churches in the locality. However, the threat of abducting Christian girls left Christian villagers on pins and needles.
