Pakistan’s rising athlete Komal Emmanuel has bagged two bronze and one silver medals at the 5th Asian Indoor and Marshal Arts Games held in Turkmenistan. 21-year-old Komal Emmanuel a young Christian athlete forms a dynamic component of Pakistan’s Ju Jitsu team; participated in Women’s Duo and Mixed Duo matches.
Komal Emmanuel was able to clinch two bronze medals for Pakistan; partnering with Sonia Manzoor in Women’s Duo Classic and Women’s Duo Show. These matches were held on September 16, Saturday. In Mixed Duo Show Komal partnered with male counterpart Rafique Siddique and bagged a silver medal.
Pakistan’s Mixed Duo Show team Komal and Rafique played four matches competing with teams of India, Turkmenistan, Lebanon and Turkmenistan in the finals. Pakistani Mixed Duo Show team ranks second on the table.
Pakistan’s Women’s Duo Classic team also played four matches. Pakistani Women’s Duo Classic team competed with Vietnam, Thailand, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. Pakistani Women’s Classic Duo team ranks third on the table. Komal Emmanuel and Sonia Manzoor also paired to for Pakistani Women’s Duo Show team and ranked second on the table competing with Turkmenistan, Vietnam, India and Thailand.
Pakistani Ju Jitsu Team ranks 6th on medals table winning one gold, two silver and four bronze medals. Overall Pakistan has been able to bag 16 medals in the tournament and ranks 14. Pakistan has won 1 gold, 2 silver and 13 bronze medals in the tournament.
