Lahore Attack: US Ambassador offers condolences over loss of lives

The US Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. David Hale paid a visit to the Bishop House in Lahore in order to offer condolences for the tragic demises of Christians as a result of the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park terror strike.

In keeping with details, the US Ambassador to Pakistan, met with Archbishop Sebastian Francis Shaw, and expressed his heartfelt grief over the tragic incident on Easter. He offered condolences to the Archbishop over loss of valuable lives of the Christians at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, Lahore. At this occasion, Mr. David Hale extended the affirmation that the US government and people are standing with the Pakistani nation in their fight against the plague of terrorism. During this visit, the US Consul General in Lahore, Mr. Zachary V. “Zach” Harkenrider was also accompanying the US Ambassador Mr. David Hale.

The US Ambassador also paid a visit to Lahore’s Sacred Heart Cathedral. He met with the opinion leaders along with the students. Mr. David Hale also met with the leaders of the local Christian community.

On March 27, Sunday a suicide bomber blew himself up in Lahore’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal park where hundreds of people including a large number of Christians were present. As a result of this explosion, more than 75 people including women and children died, while at the same time in excess of 300 people were injured.

Soon after the incident, a faction of Talibaan, claimed responsibility of the attack and said that this attack was intended to target the Christians who were celebrating Easter that day.
