Anil Saleem, brother of the victim claims that police is showing slackness in this case. After six months, no action has been taken against the perpetrators. “Moreover, the police exonerated the main accused, Dr. Saira, in the initial investigation, even though she was the one who had instigated her colleagues and the security guards to attack us in the hospital ward,” Anil Saleem told Morning Star News.

Anil Saleem who is the complainant in this case said that police is reluctant to take action against the accused doctors because the Young Doctors Association (YDA) had threatened to initiated a protest across Punjab.

“We think that the police were told by the provincial government not to arrest the doctors to avoid confrontation with the YDA,” he said. All of the accused procured a pre-arrest bail and were never interrogated by the police. Anil Saleem said that the suspects even tried to offer money to the family of Sunil.

“They have made several attempts to settle the case through money, offering up to 2 million rupees, but I have refused to take the money. No money can heal the wound we have suffered.
