Lahore: Nurses who attended the injured of the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park blast honored

Nurses who had served the injured of the Gulshan-e-Iqbal park explosion honored on Nurses’ Day. The award ceremony was organized by the Bright Future Society. This event was attended by about two hundred nurses who were presented with certificates of acknowledgment and gold medals for their tiring services towards victims of the incident.

Nurses awarded for services to the injured of Easter bombing

About two hundred nurses from Lahore’ Jinnah Hospital were presented with gold medals and certificates as an acknowledgement of their inestimable services. Samuel Payara- Head of Bright Future Society while addressing the audience, appreciated the role of nurses in serving the community.

He said that nurses had offered exceptional professional services administered to the injured of the Gulshan-e-Iqbal park blast. He emphasized on the exemplary services of nurses for the entire society while noting the constructive part of the nurses in a society’s well being.

A catastrophe struck Lahore when a suicide bomber blew himself up in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park on March 27, Easter day. At the time of blast hundreds of people including women and mostly children were present in the park. The blast left several injured and in need of immediate medical treatment and care. A state of emergency was declared in the city’s hospitals and Jinnah Hospital played a pivotal role in taking care of the injured.
