Family members of a Christian attorney Sardar Mushtaq Gill have been taken away by unknown men. The incident took place on May 22, Sunday. Those abducted include father, mother and sister of Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill. Soon after the incident an FIR was registered by the police, followed by preliminary investigations into the case.
As disclosed the 60-year-old, father, 62-year-old mother and 38-year-old sister of Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill were abducted around 3:45 pm, from a bus stop in Kot Usad Ullah Khan village in Manga Mandi. As detailed, the abductor was driving a car. Consequently, a police complaint ref no. 0360734, has been registered and the police is making further investigations.
As narrated by mother and sister of Advocat Sardar Mushtaq Gill, a man who was driving a car met with them at the bus stop and told them that he was sent by Advocate Sardar Mushatq Gill to pick them up. They sat in his car, but after a while noticed that he was driving away from their destination, while getting a clue of danger, mother and sister of Sardar Mushatq Gill escaped from the car when it stopped during a traffic jam near Baath village.
Seeing this, the driver directed a gun at the father of Sardar Mushtaq Gill and drove off. The ladies reached home and briefed the family about the incident. At about 08:30 pm, the father of Advocate Sardar Mushataq Gill reached home and told that as the car dove near the Police Check post Thokar bypass, Lahore, and the kidnapper talked on phone with someone and stopped the car way back from the police check post. The kidnapped opened the door of the car and pushed him out from the car, and sped off.
“I couldn’t perceive actual agenda of the kidnapper when he pointed a pistol at me he also asked why my son takes religious cases,” told the abductee father of Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill.
Sardar Mushtaq Gill is a Christian lawyer who heads the charity organization Legal Evangelical Association Development, (LEAD). Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill and his organization provides free of cost legal assistance to underprivileged Christians in the matters of kidnappings, forced conversions, blasphemy accusations etc.
Sardar Mushatq is also a rights activist and has been on the forefront when it comes to the fighting for the rights of Pakistani Christians. He has been involved in prominent cases such as the lynching of a Christian couple in Kot Radha Kishan and many more.
