ISLAMABAD: Security concerns looming over the twin cities as private Schools and collages have been closed.

According to details, all private schools and colleges have announced winter vacation from December 20 to January 4 whereas the public institutes will be closed from Dec 22 to Dec 31. These institutions have made hasty vacation announcement due to heightened security concerns. An official of the Roots School System said that they had cancelled the parent-teacher meetings and other engagements. “The vacation was to start on December 24 but we have announced it earlier due to security issues,” he said.

In the Capital city CADD- the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has issued a notification regarding the closure of public schools and colleges. The notifications states winter vacation would be observed from December 22 to December 31. The schools and colleges will reopen on January 1. Riphah International University will also remain closed till January 4 while the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) will be closed from Dec 22 to Dec 29.
