Man Sentences to 14 years in Prison for throwing acid on Christian Women

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) gave 14-year detainment to Vijay Pervez Masih after convicting him of throwing acid on two women in Quetta in May 2015, as sources provided details regarding Monday.

The ATC Judge Dawood Nasar condemned Pervez to 14 years in jail and furthermore requested him to present a fine of Rs1 million.

In 2015, Pervez had splashed acid on two ladies, Rimsha Masih and Hina Masih — then 28 and 16 years of age individually — close Basti Panchyat region on MeCongi Road in Quetta. He was captured by the police not long after the assault on the protest of the casualties, and was sent to District Jail Quetta and later moved to the Central Jail.

The case had been registered against the accused under Section 336-93/15 of the PPC and Section 7 of the ATA at the City Police Station Quetta according to the sources.

The ladies were taken to Lady Dufferin Hospital and after introductory treatment moved to the burns ward of Bolan Medical College Hospital. They were later moved to Karachi for treatment.

Hina had endured burns on hands and legs while Rimsha endured consume wounds all over and hands, doctor’s facility sources had stated, including that Hina was singed 15 for every penny while Rimsha 30 for each penny.
