As the Marriamabad festival progresses, Federal Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael visits Marriamabad, District Shiekhupura. He was warmly received by Bishop Arshad Joseph, Bishop of Faisalabad Diocese. Federal Minister arrived while the Marriamabad festival is going on, which is attended by hundreds of Christians from across the country.
MPA Shahzaz Shahzad Munshi, MPA Shakeel Marcus Khokhar, Joel Amir Sohotra, Saleem Rehmat Sindhu, Asif Bhatti, Rafaqat Sohotra, Emmanuel Ather Julius and other prominent Christians from Lahore and Faisalabad also accompanied Federal Minister Kamran Michael.
Federal Minister addressed the devotees who had arrived, to attend the festival. Every year hundreds of Christians from across the country pour in to mark the festival. While addressing the attendees, he announced a fund of 10 million Rupees for construction of shelters and other facilities for devotees and other developmental projects.
On the other hand, District Health Officer Doctor Syed Sajid announced that seeing hundreds of people arriving in Marriamabad, two medical camps and one makeshift hospital has been set up. Dr. Syed Sajid announced that that medical facilities are been made available and the camps and hospital will be open for twenty four hours each administering medical treatment to the devotees. He said that doctors and paramedical staff has been appointed at these installations which will be looking after the medical needs of the guests.
Dr. Syed further explained that a facility of five beds has been made available in the makeshift hospital. The staff is well trained to cope with emergency cases, while medicines are available at patients’ disposal.
