Prime Minister of Pakistan says that he belongs to every religious community in Pakistan. “Every community living here whether Hindu, Muslim or Parsi, everyone belongs to me and I belong to them. I am prime minister of all communities.”
He said this while addressing the Hindu community. At this occasion he asserted that all religious communities living in Pakistan are enjoying equal rights, at the same time he vowed to look after them.
PM Nawaz Sharif went on to say, “If you are in distress, I will stand by you. Even if a Muslim commits an injustice, I will stand with the victim.” He said that this is what Islam, teaches about and this is what he has been taught by his forefathers. He emphasized on the need for reinforcing harmony among all religious communities abiding in Pakistan and declared that all minorities were part of Pakistan and it was his duty to guard and facilitate them.
While urging for a need to establish religious tolerance and harmony among various religions in the country, he said, “We are one nation and forging unity and consensus among them is my mission. Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and Parsis are part of the country.” While urging all to join his efforts he added, “Let’s jointly pledge that we will protect the minorities.”
As a result of rising religious intolerance in Pakistan, the country is now amongst the most worst places for Christians to live. Blasphemy laws, are the most notorious tools being used against the religious minorities sepecially the Christians. Christian girls are specially targeted these days, as a report reveals about 700 Christian girls are forcefully converted to Islam by given in marrige to Muslims men.
