NASA Competition: A Pakistani student wins second prize

A Pakistani boy secures second prize at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)

According to Express Tribune, a Pakistani student Shah Mir Aizaz, who is a student of O’ Levels, has won second prize at the NASA Ames Space Settlement Design Contest 2015.

Shah Aizaz participated in the annual design competition for students from grade 7 to grade 12. This competition was sponsored by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Ames Research Centre and the National Space Society NSS. Shah Aizaz won second prize for his design titled, ‘Beyond Infinity – Eros Outer Atmosphere Settlement’.

Every year, students from all around the world in small teams of two to five, and large teams of six or more are invited from to submit space settlement designs to NASA Ames for judgement. This competition is being conducted since 1994. However, 994 submissions 3,007 students taught by 380 teachers were received in as entries this year. Students from 21 countries and 14 states of USA submitted their entries.
