No less than 90 people who were held captive by Boko Haram have been released.
According to media reports, Boko Haram has released about 90 captives. These 90 people miraculously freed by the terror group returned to their community in the northeast state of Yobe between Friday and Saturday. These people were abducted on January 6 by the terror group during their recent rampage across the region. Local officials have confirmed the release of these 90 people by the terror group.
Abdullahi Bego, spokesman for the state governor, confirmed that the released captives were young men, women and children. He further told that these people were kidnapped on Janusry 6.
Goni Mali- community leader of Katarko said, ”The people will be presented to the government tomorrow for assistance as their houses were set ablaze when the insurgents attacked the village, Katarko in the Gujba local council.”
