Nigerian Christians Facing Severe Persecution At The Hands Of Boko Haram

Several towns with large Christian populations in the north eastern states of Nigeria have been attacked in recently by Boko Haram causing many to flee and killing dozens.

Madagali in Adamawa state has a large population of Christians and was overrun last week by Boko Haram. The militants vandalised and destroyed churches and church buildings and singled out Christians who remained, according to witnesses.

Father Gideon Obasogie, the spokesman for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Maiduguri, said: “Christians in the town are really in a terrible situation, a moment of great persecution.”
