Khaliq Masih narrated the incident to the team of NGO saying, “On August 27, afternoon about 3:00pm, my nephew Arshad, 12-years-old, was playing in the street, when Muhammad Shahid passed by the street, he mocked Arshad that his sister-in-law is pregnant and she will give birth as their cows and buffalos do.

“Arshad Masih got offended and replied in an offensive way to him. Muhammad Shahid started beating Arshad Masih while I and my wife, jumped in and settled the quarrel. Later in the evening Muhammad Shahid and his brothers named Zeeshan and Muhammad Adnan arrived at my home, they started damaging my house and started beating me, my son Khawar Masih, my daughter-in-law Kalsoom Bibi.

As a result of this bashing, Khaliq Masih sustained a fracture in arm while his wife was seriously injured. Khaliq and his wife were both rushed to a local hospital where the doctors admitted Khaliq while discharged his wife after initial treatment.

As usual the police refused to lodge a complaint against the criminals while demanding for a medical certificate in order to register an FIR. Subsequently, the victimized Christian family is scared as the police are reluctant to act and the alleged culprits are free and may carry out such attack at any time. The NGO pledged to provide them all possible legal assistance.
