One year on: In the loving memory of legendary Pakistani Bible scholar

November 8 marks first anniversary of celebrated Bible scholar Reverend Dr. Ezekiel Sarosh who passed away in a tragic car accident last year. His car was hit when he was on his way to Lahore after attending a prayer convention past midnight on November 8.

Pakistani Christian scholars

Dr. E. Sarosh was born on April 3, 1947, in Umarpura, Lahore. He went on to attend Don Bosco High School, later he acquired an undergraduate degree in music from Punjab University. Later on, he took admission at the Faith Theological Seminary in Gujranwala. Here he had the chance to receive valuable mentoring by some of the most distinguished Pakistani Christian pastors of that time.

Dr. Sarosh later got enrolled at the Rochester Bible College. The man of God was had the gift of composing soulful music for hymns. Under this mantle, he wrote and composed over 600 Christian hymns – which are still sung in Pakistani churches.

His first ever cassette album of Christian hymns in Pakistan was titled “Har Dil Aziz Naghmat.” Some of his other music albums are: “Aasmani Naghmat, Dil Pasand Naghme Volume 1, Dil Pasand Naghme Volume 2 and City of the Cross.” He was also author of three poetry books namely: “Hawa ka Shehr, Dil Pasand Naghmat and Yaadon ka Nagar.”
