Human Rights Defenders Tulip

Naeem Shakir, a distinguished, Christian lawyer and Human Rights Activist, has been vigorously making  efforts in the process of legislation of  family laws about Christians in Pakistan. He has played an instrumental role, by amending one and a half century old, marriage and divorce laws. These obsolete laws had become repressive. He has put in phenomenal efforts in abrogation of racial segregation; an apartheid mode of separate electorates. A book entitled “AN APARTHEID MODE OF SEPARATE ELECTORATES” highlights dimensions of his political activism, to terminate the apartheid, which was foisted in 1985.

Naeem Shakir has also been rendering his services as a lawyer and a human rights activist to the outcast of the society. He has offered his services as defense counsel, to the Christians who have been victims of the Blasphemy Laws.

The civil society ofPakistan, appreciates the Government’s acknowledgment of invaluable efforts of Naeem Shakir.
