A team of young Pakistani Christians have committed themselves for the protection of churches and places of worship following the terrorist attacks on churches and Christian institutes recently.

Terrorism, extortion, religious extremism, first the All Saints Church Peshawar attack and then the twin blasts in Youhanabad is what motivated this young group of men to come up with a security force, solely for the protection of fellow Christians.

Starting off from the Shaloom Presbyterian Church in Bahar Colony, the basic idea behind the formation of the security force was that at the end of the day we should not blame the government or any other agency. In case of any event the effected should not say that acts of terrorism materialize because of the unavailability of proper security. These young men know how to stand up for themselves.

They are committed to play their part in the Pakistani government and army’s efforts to curb terrorism from the country. Currently operational at only a few churches, the team aims to collaborate with other churches and Christian institutes in Pakistan. They are ready to serve any minority or church they are called by. They are a team of 16 men and currently provide security to 6 churches in the Bahar Colony neighborhood.

Names and designations of the team have not been provided due to security protocols, but the team is comprised of men from all walks of life who are highly committed to serving their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.God is blessing the team day by day and they aim to grow from strength to strength.

The public spokes person of the security force is Mr. Waqar Peter Gill. He has a message for the Pakistani Christian youth, “For youth I want to say you are the backbone of the Church and society without you and your support we can’t move on and pass the torch of salvation, love, peace and happiness to future generations. Please join Church Youth, Church Security and many other services offered under the umbrella of Church our previous generations are history we all are present but you guys are the future of Church and Christianity. You guys are the future Ambassadors of Christ.”

The security force is committed to serve Christianity and request for prayers and support from all the Churches ministries in Pakistan, so that they are successful in the serving the cause they have committed themselves to. Please unite in this cause and support your youth. Invest in improving the security team and equip them with the best facilities.
