Pastor Samuel Khokhar Founding President of Global Peace and Preach Ministries of Pakistan has urged the Government of Pakistan to facilitate the Christians in Pakistan to visit the Holy Land of Israel- which is of prime importance for Christians because this the land where Lord Jesus Christ was born, ministered and most importantly it is here that he died and rose again.

Pakistani Christians call for Holy Land pilgrimage

“Government of Pakistan must allow Christians to visit Israel so that they may visit the birthland of their Savior Lord Jesus Christ,” he said. It is primarily because of the fact that the Pakistani passport is not applicable for Israel’s visa which is why Pakistani Christians are deprived of their religious right of Holy Land’s pilgrimage.

He further said that back in 2007, a group of Christians had raised their voice over this issue calling for appropriate action from the then ruler General Pervaiz Musharraf; however within few months his reign was dismissed due to which the issue remained unaddressed.

“I appeal to the present government to bestow special approval to the Pakistani Christians so that they may visit the land of their Savior Lord Jesus Christ, and visit their sacred places,” he asserted.

In 4th century, mother of Constantine had built churches that commemorated the events in the life of Jesus Christ. Christians from every denomination on earth visit Jerusalem and rest of Israel as a holy pilgrimage. Thousands upon thousands of Christians from across the globe throng the Holy Land and visit the sacred places every year.
