BENGHAZI: Pakistanis now banned in Libya due to security and stability reasons.
According to a military statement issued on Tuesday, September 1. Libya’s administration based in the east has banned Pakistanis, Yemenis, and Iranians from entering the divided country. Moreover, Sudanese, Bangladeshis, Palestinians and Syrians have already been banned to get a Libyan visa
A competitor group captured Tripoli a year ago, after which Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni administers only the remnant state in eastern Libya. PM Thinni’s government and allied authorities will only be able to implement the ban at the eastern airports of Tobruk and Labraq and the land crossing with Egypt.
For this reason, Libyan chief army commander Khalifa Haftar, who is allied to PM Thinni, signed the latest ban, which is being put into effect for the sake of general security situation and to preserve “the nation’s security and stability”.
Confirmed by a senior military official, the ban also mentions that Sudanese and Bangladeshi ware not allowed to come to Libya, as already mentioned in previous government statements.
