Pakistan’s Christians Are Requesting for Prayers Over the Latest Critical Argument Between the Government and the Taliban

Christians of Pakistan are asking for prayers over the latest critical dialogue between the government of Pakistan and the Taliban. As the Taliban organizes to submit a list of prisoners that they want freed by the government, rising brutality seems a warning of things to come. Though this news has major national implication the fallout will most straightforwardly impact Christians and the church.

On the 2014 World Watch List, Pakistan ranks #8, a rise from 2013 when it ranked #14. In previous years, the position of Christians did not revolutionize much, but they continued to be under massive pressure by government and social groups. The tangible increase in 2014 is partly due to an increased level of hostility, but also due to a sharp increase in a aggressive attitude of society towards Christians.

Believers in Pakistan ask that we please keep praying against the schema of the Taliban and other groups who are now overtly making their case for the implementation of Sharia Law saying, “We greatly appreciate your prayers at this time.”
