Pakistan’s shame: Country’s biggest child pornography gang busted

child pornography gang busted in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed anger and displeasure over the Kasur child porn scandal.

According to media reports, Pakistani Premier Nawaz Sharif has expressed displeasure over the child porn scandal. He also vowed that the offenders would be awarded exemplary punishment. In a statement he said: “The accused will not be spared any punishment.”

A child pornography ring was busted when Punjab’s Child Protection Bureau seized over 400 videos with 280 children belonging to Hussain Khan Wala village in Kasur, being sexually abused. This is by far, Pakistan’s biggest child pornography ring. Most of the victims of this child porn group were 14 years old and younger. There was a six-year-old boy being exploited, and a 10-year-old girl filmed while being molested by a 14-year-old boy.

Purportedly, thousands of copies of the sexual assault videos have been sold for Rs. 50 each in Hussain Khanwala village in Kasur district. According to the parents of victimized children, the gang members were in contact with pedophiles in western countries and would sell the videos overseas for large amounts of money.

One of the child victims reveals, “I was just nine years old when I was abducted and taken to a deserted house. I was brutally tortured when I offered resistance. Then they administered a spinal injection.” He was raped by the gang in 2006. “I was raped multiple times by several men at gunpoint. I decided not to tell anybody. Six months later, the accused showed me the video clips when I refused to perform sexual acts on camera again. It was horrible,” he added.

On the other hand, Police identified the pedophile group as the Ganda Singh Wala. Police say, this gang was led by two older men in their 40s and with members of 25 young men and teenagers.

There were clashes reported between the agitated people of Kasur and the police, as a result of which several people were injured. The infuriated protesters claimed that the policemen accepted bribes from gang members and deliberately delayed their arrest.

Media reports regarding this sickening child pornography scandal have sparked a nationwide outrage while Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif promised on Sunday ‘exemplary punishment’ for the culprits. Meanwhile Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, had ordered a judicial inquiry into the appalling scandal.
