Peshawar Incident: Death Toll Reaches 83

PESHAWAR: The death toll of twin suicide bombings at All Saints Church has reached 83.

According to official reports the causality death toll has now reached 83 however according to our sources the numbers are incredibly higher than 83. The calamity came to pass after two suicide bombers blew themselves up outside the Church. Moreover, according to latest reports at least 150 people were injured in the attacks.The dead and injured, some of them in critical conditions were rushed to different hospitals of Peshawar including Lady Reading Hospital.

 

Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has confirmed the death toll saying,”Some of the injured were in critical condition. There are 34 women and seven children among the dead.” He added,” The federal government had announced a three-day period of national mourning.”

 

According to the AFP, “The two attackers struck at the end of a service at All Saints Church in Peshawar, the main town in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which has borne the brunt of a bloody extremist insurgency in recent years.”

 

Dr Arshad Javed, chief executive of the Lady Reading hospital, said: “I have never seen such piles of human bodies. The exact number of the blast victims cannot be ascertained as yet.”

 

However, according to sources, the victims were rendered completely helpless when the LRH staff fell short of attending all the causalities of the incident. The inability of hospital administration to cope with such a large number of injured some case have been reported where the patients expired awaiting medical attention.

 

According to latest reports the indignant victims have staged a protest at the LRH joined by Christian nurses and para medics. The flustered relatives were jammed  from entering the hospital to look for family members by the police. 
 

“The hospital administartion has failed in dealing with the situation,” says a victim. “We have been waiting for hours  now and no one has come to our help,” he adds.
