PM to undergo heart surgery: Prime Minister’ Prayer Team urges Christians to pray for his speedy recovery

Pakistani Premier is scheduled to under an open-heart surgery in London on Tuesday, May 31. In this regard, Prime Minister’ Prayer Team is urging Christians all across the country to pray for recuperation of PM’ health. Prime Minister’ Prayer Team is calling upon churches in the country to specially remember the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during the prayer services on Sunday 29.

Christians pray for Nawaz Sharif

Prime Minister Nawaz will have to take a week long rest after the open-heart surgery. A spokesman for the Prime Minister house confirmed that the surgery would be carried out on Tuesday morning. He further said that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar would be looking after the official affairs while in the absence of the Prime Minister.

The PM House spokesperson further disclosed that the doctors had suggested an open heart surgery followed by several tests and medical investigations. PM Nawaz Sharif checked into a hospital in central London for medical examinations; and the doctors decided to conduct open heart surgery rather than angioplasty.

On this occasion, First Lady Kulsoom Nawaz and two sons Hassan and Hussain Nawaz are accompanying the Pakistani Premier in London. PM’s daughter Maryam Nawaz tweeted: “The team of cardiologists & cardiac surgeons after thorough examination. Scans & tests, have decided to go for an open heart surgery. He will be on specific medication for the next 3 days before his surgery on Tues. The recovery period & hospital stay will be one week & he will travel Insha’Allah back to Pak as soon as the doctors allow. Prayers needed.”
