Participants at Pakistan Muslim League Minority Wing-Sargodha meeting call for dual voting rights for Christians. This meeting was presided by Member of National Assembly Tariq C Qaisar. Other prominent attendees were Member of Punjab Assembly Chaudhary Hamid Hameed, Member of Punjab Assembly Doctor Nadia Aziz.
At this occasion, member Cantonment Board Zia ul Haq said Pakistani Christians should be bestowed with dual voting rights, while measures should be taken in order to ensure Christians get benefited from the 5% jobs quota reserved for religious minorities in the country.
District President of PML-N Minority Wing Qaisar Zia, President of PML-N Minority Wing Sargodha Yaqub Jalal Randhawa and dozens of party workers were present. Members from Sargodha Cantonment Board including Raja Shahzad Anwar, Chaudhary Abdul Rasheed expressed solidarity with the minorities.
The members of Provincial and National Assemblies present at this occasion said that government is doing every bit it can for protection of religious minorities in Pakistan. They said that government is keen on dispensation of equal rights to the minorities. Christians are enjoying equal rights, whereas more steps are being taken by the government to sustain their rights, they stated.
