ISLAMABAD: The assassins of ex- Federal Minister Shahbaz Bhatti taken into custody by the police.

According to details, police had made a successful probe into this case thus arresting the culprits as claimed by some media reports. According to these reports police appraised Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan about this crack down.

The reports also claim that, the assassins of late Shahbaz Bhatti also got engaged in various terrorist activities in federal capital. Since the assassination of the ex- Federal Minister Shahbaz Bhatti; Islamabad police had arranged an exclusive crack down on the suspects arresting dozens from the federal territory.

 

Moreover, police also claims that the detainees are associated with the same network whose massive attack was  barred by the police when they seized a car full of explosive material from the Bara Kahu area of Islamabad.

 

Previously, Federal Minister for Minority affairs Shahbaz Bhatti was killed in the I-8/3 area of Islamabad in 2011by three unidentified gunmen. According to some reports, an extremist group claimed responsibility for the attack on the minister

 

The minister had left his house moments ago when his car was intercepted by a white Suzuki Mehran. Assailants, dressed in shalwar kurtas, first took the minister’s driver out the car and then shot 25 bullets at Bhatti.

 

A Local resident said,” The firing continued for about 30 seconds. We came out of our home after hearing the gunfire, we saw the car, it was badly damaged. We saw the minister; he was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.”

 

While Paul Bhatti, brother of the assassinated said prior to these developments, “The investigations into the homicide of my brother are finally on the right track, It was committed by the Taliban and fanatics. Now, we are waiting for the capture of the perpetrators, who are in Dubai,” he said.

 

“We were convinced that he had been killed for his work, for his defence of human rights and the rights of Christians. The investigation has proved us right,” Bhatti  added.
