Pope Francis offers prayers for the victims of Las Vegas shooting

Pope Francis has expressed great grief and sadness over mass shooting incident in Las Vegas. More than 50 have lost their lives while recent updates confirm more than 500 people have been injured in what is being termed as worst shooting incident in U.S. history.

The Pontiff expressed spiritual closeness to the victims saying prayers for them. In this regard a telegram was sent to the Bishop of Las Vegas Joseph Anthony. Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, conveyed Pontiff’s condolences and grief over the incident saying: Pope Francis was “deeply saddened” to learn of “this senseless tragedy.”

More than 50 people have lost their lives in a mass shooting at a concert in Las Vegas. More than 500 people were wounded when a gunman opened indiscriminate fire on those present. The incident unfolded on Monday, at around 4:08 (AEST).
