KARACHI: Pakistan Christian Congress terms privatization of Solid Waste Management Department of Municipal Corporations as “selling Christians to Turkish companies.”
Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has condemned privatization of Solid Waste Management department of Municipal Corporations of Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala and various other main cities of Punjab to Turkish companies.
PCC Chief said “Christian employees of Municipal Corporations of Punjab were getting pension and other funds with which they were able to start new life for their families after retirement benefits which are destroyed with privatization and Mian Nawaz and Shahbaz are responsible of such anti-Christian attitudes”
Nazir Bhatti said that,” Pakistan Christian Congress PCC will strongly oppose only privatization of SWM department of municipal corporations of Punjab in which Christians are employees. If Sharif brothers attempted to sell more Christians to Turkish companies then Punjabi Christians will go on indefinite strike.”
However, it is noteworthy that Solid Waste Management departments of Municipal Corporations of Punjab a considerable number of Christians are engaged; who clean streets, roads and move solid waste of cities.
According to the PCC, the Prime Minister of Pakistan and his brother Mian Shahbaz Sharif Chief Minister of Punjab make frequent visits to Turkey while serving Pakistani Punjabi Christians as a bate to extend their loyalty.
Pointing out to another occurrence when in 2012, Solid Waste Management department of Lahore Metropolitan Corporation was privatized with no permission of Pakistan Privatization Commission to Turkish government in which harbours large number of Christian employees.
Dr. Nazir S Bhatti added, “Now when Mian Nawaz Sharif is Prime Minister of Pakistan and his brother Mian Shahbaz Sharif is Chief Minister of Punjab are planning to privatize SWM department of other cities of Punjab and selling it to Turkish companies.”
