According to media details, Muhammad Jibran Nasir a political activist who has been leading protests against Khateb of Lal Masjid Maulana Abdul Aziz, has allegedly been threatened by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Jamaat Ahrar (TTP-JA) spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan.

Jibran Nasir told the media that he received a call, allegedly from the TTP spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan. He claimed that he had recorded the conversation. Nonetheless, he has shown resolute determination that he will back pedal from upcoming protests outside the Lal Masjid.

“We are not afraid. We are not backing out. We are here to save our mosques. Our mosques should preach love and peace. They must present the right spirit of Islam,” Nasir said.

In the wake of controversial remarks from the Khateeb of Lal Masjid, an FIR was lodged against him at the Aabpara police station on Friday, three hours after infuriated protesters had gathered outside the police station sternly demanding the cleric be arrested for supporting the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s Peshawar school massacre.

Maulana Abdul Aziz straightforwardly sympathised with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan TTP and militant group Islamic State IS terming the Peshawar school carnage as a reaction to military operation in North Waziristan.
