Qalandarabad: Bach Christian Hospital committed to endorse mental physical and spiritual wholeness of people

Bach Christian Hospital in Qalandarabad which is few kilometers away from Abbottabad, promotes spiritual, mental and physical wholeness of people. The hospital was established in 1956 by Illinois-based organization The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM). The hospital poses as a symbol of trust for the locals, irrespective of religion, caste and creed.

Hospital’ OPD hustles with patients, which see almost 400 patients on daily basis; while there are eleven departments including obstetric and pediatric wards in BCH. The hospital has a facility of surgical complex having two operation theatres. These operation theaters see about 200 operations every month. After the 2005 earthquake catastrophe, the physical therapy department was upgraded to prosthetics.

The hospital caters to needs of reduced people who are not able to afford expensive private health care. The fee for outdoor patients is 80 Rupees only, whereas patients has to pay 15,000 Rupees for a surgical procedure. Dr. Luke Cutherell CEO of Bach Christian Hospital says, “In recent months we have had unprecedented rejections of visa applications, both for those working here and for new physicians wanting to join our service from abroad.”

Bach Christian Hospital has been serving the nation through hostilities, terrorist attacks and turmoils of other kinds, while the institution still stands heads up showing commitment to caring for the health people of the area, , Dr. Cutherell said. “My parents were a part of the group that helped to start this hospital, having spent nearly forty years in their adopted country.
