According to Radio Iran reports, Islamic States self-proclaimed caliph Abu Bakar Baghdadi has died. Baghdadi was grievously injured in an air strike in Iraq in March, as per reports, and was believed to be unable to handle day-to-day activities of the terror group.
Baghdadi’s injuries led to urgent meetings of Islamic State leaders, who initially believed he would die and made plans to name a new leader, said media reports.
Baghdadi, who is known to his supporters as Amir al-Mu’minin or Caliph Ibrahim, lead the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) an Islamic extremist group in western Iraq, Libya, northeast Nigeria and Syria self-styled as the ‘Islamic State’
There is, however, no confirmation of the report from other news agencies.
