Rufus Shahzad Rising keyboard Player from Pakistani Christian Community

Rufus Shahzad emerges as yet another young Pakistani Christian musician, has a flourishing career of 12 successful years of keyboard playing.

He started his career by playing keyboard for Gospel songs at Pakistan Gospel Assemblies (PGA) church and Lamp Fellowship Ministry International. After 6 years of Gospel service, he pressed on and rose on the Pakistani music horizon as a skilled musician now renown internationally.He graduated in Musicology from National College of Arts (NCA) Lahore.

 

To his credit, he has performed with many reputed artists of Pakistan and India. His acknowledged accomplishments include his performance with Rekha Bhardvaaj in Dubai who has sung songs in Indian movies namely Omkara, 7 Khoon Maaf and Burfi.

 

Rufus is Session Keyboardist at SYMT which is a mainstream band of Pakistan which has performed at Coke Studio Season 5, Pepsi Smash and The Floor Live Session ARY MUZIK. In addition he also plays as a Session Keyboardist at Meesha Shaffi’s Band named “Jugni Girl” and has played keyboards with Ali noor ( Noori Band), Qurtulan Baloch QB, Aliyan Rasheed and Amanat Ali.

 

He performs as a House Band member at Pakistan Superstar which is Pakistan’s first online digital music reality show and at Music Latte. Furthermore, he has been featured as Keyboardist in 34 official videos produced and released by Walnuts studio. Rufus has performed several times on air for TV channels like A plus, PTV, Geo TV Nadia Khan Show Mothers day Special. He recently performed with SYMT BAND at The Floor Live Sessions ARY MUZIK. In the year of his degree he attempted a thesis titled ” Translating Emotion into Music”; A practical demonstration using Western Orchestra. It was Pakistan’s first work on Orchestral music purely and this thesis report was published in “Express Tribune”
