Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter- faith Harmony said that government of Pakistan is working for spreading of peace and keep taking steps to encourage equality and protect rights of minorities.
He said this while addressing an international conference titled “ Grassroots & community initiatives towards rebuilding U.S -Pakistan Relationship” organized by Iqbal international Institute for Research and Dialogue (IIIRD) of International Islamic University (IIU) and Intersections International of USA.
“All the religions call for mutual understanding and especially Islam discourages attitudes of conflict and violence,” he said.
While being grateful for the efforts of both Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue and Intersections International, he guaranteed that ministry would help both institutions in future to arrange an international conference on inter-faith harmony. Also talking about the Pak-US relations, he said Pakistan highly values its relations with US; he further added “both countries have shared goals and commendable contribution for promoting peace and interfaith harmony”.
