It has been a decades long standing debate between science and Christian scholars regarding validity of the Biblical account of creation.
However, no more debates needed as in recent years science has shed light on the subject of planet formation. NASA’S Hubble and Spitzer telescopes have found minute details about planet formation which are exactly in accord with the Biblical account of creation.
Let us have a look what the Bible has to say about planet creation:
“Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” Genesis 1: 2
Science with the launch of the Hubble space telescope in 1990, and later the Spitzer telescope in 2003, for the first time ever, was able to look back in time and learn how the universe formed.
As a matter of fact, scientists had been arguing about Genesis 1:2 without knowing the scientific process behind planet formation. It was for thousands of years that this verse kept minds of the scientists boggled.
The telescope sneaked a look into the dusty disks that envelop young stars, pursuing slightest of hints of the earliest signs of the formation of planetary systems. To their surprise, what they found in the disk surrounding the star CoKu Tau 4 in the Taurus constellation actually matched the description of planet formation as written in the book of Genesis regarding earth’s creation. This finding validated the Bible to be scientifically precise.
According to the data scientist gathered from the dusty disk surrounding the star system CoKu Tau 4 in the Taurus constellation, “planets like the Earth are formed from leftover waste and debris from their central star.”
Planets were formed inside a proto-planetary disc of dust; initially in a formless and chaotic state in total darkness, which match up to what is stated in Genesis 1, when it says:
“Now the earth was formless and empty” Genesis 1:2
Moreover, when a planet matures inside its dusty cosset it steadily sucks up all the dust between it and the sun. While still in the early stages of the process of sucking up dust, only diffused light could get to the planet which slowly emerged from complete darkness. This stage corresponds to Genesis 1 verse 3 for day one:
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
It was in the later stages of this process that direct light from sun, moon, and stars became visible from the earth as all the dust dissipated. Now this corresponds to the description given in Genesis 1 verse 14 for day four. “Let luminaries come to be in the expanse of the heavens.”
While keeping in line with Biblical description of Earth’s formation; NASA’s videos simulating planet formation process engagingly match with the Genesis description of earth’s formation.
