LAHORE: The Session Court to hear petition for bail of the allegedly accused of blasphemy today.
According to details, the petition for bail of blasphemy accused Sawan Masih is certain to be heard today. This bail petition has been filed on behalf of Sawan Masih by LEAD while his lawyer remains hopeful for his bail.
Prior to this, an Additional District and Sessions Court, provided copies of case record to Sawan Masih, who is subjected to accusations of blasphemy on 2nd April, 2013. Wherefore the court had adjourned the proceedings till April 15 ,2013. It is said the Joseph Colony arson had happened after the alleged blasphemy by Sawan Masih. The police have charged Sawan with 295-C of Pakistan Penal Court. However, the 35 year old Sawan is likely to be arraigned in today’s hearing.
Earlier, LEAD arranged a visit to the Camp jail where Sawan is detained and facilitated his meeting with his family. LEAD is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization which endeavors to work for Children, families and communities to eradicate poverty and injustice.
The National Director of LEAD, Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill revaled that according to the FIR there is no substantial proof by which the allegation under section 295 C PPC was made out, but after the establishment of the second written application to SP Investigation City Division by complainant Shahid Imran mentioned that Swan said “Our Jesus will come back again and must come back and He is the Son of God” and said SOME DEROGATORY WORDS about PROPHET OF ISLAM” which is after thought and consultation, which makes the story of the prosecution highly doubtful.
