SHIEKHUPURA: Three Suspected Afghanis Arrested From A Church


SHIEKHUPURA: Three suspects arrested from a Church while three other flee.


According to details, these three suspected people arrested by the police were monitoring the church activities since many days. The church authorities informed the police upon suspicion as a result of in time action three of these were arrested while other three managed to escape. All of these arrested suspects are Afghanis and were keeping an eye on the church activities along with their ten allies. Witnesses say that since a week these Afghanis were engaged in suspected activities such as scrutinizing the church from the roofs of Christians’ houses at around 3:00 -4:00 am on daily basis.

When the church leaders including Pastor Wank, Pastor Habeeb, Master Hameed, Pastor Peter Karamat, Pastor Matti Karamat and Irfan Yaqoob Sahotra were informed of these suspicious activities they immediately reported the incident to the DPO Shiekhupura Afzal Ahmad Kausar. Consequently, DSP city Raja Fakhar Bashir, SHO Faisal Chadhar and Incharge Security Mian Manzoor Ahmad were directed to take action against the suspected Afghanis and step up the security of the church straight away. However, when Pastor Wankle, along with Pastor Peter Karamat and Pastor Habeeb arrived at the church in the early hours of Sunday, February 1 at about 3:00 am; these Afghani namely Faqeer Ullah Khan, Jumma Khan and Khan Muhammad were spying the church along with their other accomplices. These Afghanis had disguised themselves while they kept an eye on the church when the church Pastors arrived and as a result three of them fled abruptly. Three of them were arrested n the by the police.

According to reports, police has recovered several mobile phone SIMs, two mobile phones, some documents and old Pakistani currency from the arrested Afghanis. DPO Afzal Ahmad Khausar told the media that the arrested Afghanis are 16 and 17 years old and that the police investigation in under way.
