Christian party worker of Pakistan People’s Party sworn in to the Sindh Cabinet. Naveed Anthony from PPP swore an oath as an adviser to the newly appointed Chief Minister of Sindh. Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan took oath from nine newly appointed ministers on August 7, Sunday at the Governor House in Karachi.
Newly appointed Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah was also present during the oath taking ceremony. The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by Chief Secretary Sindh Muhammad Siddique Memon. The freshly appointed Sindh cabinet members include, Manzoor Hussain Wassan, Mir Hazar Khan Bajrani, Imdad Ali Pitafi, Fayyaz Butt, Muhammad Ali Malkani, Mumtaz Hussain Jakhrani, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Muhammad Bux Mehar and Ikram Ullah Khan Dharejo.
Along with these nine ministers, eleven special assistants and advisers were also included in the cabinet. These assistants include, Rehana Laghari, Nadir Khawaja, Darwan Chandio, Abid Ali Bhiyo, Taimur Talpur, Syed Qasim Naveed, Umer Rehman Malik, Baber Afandi, Zulfiqar Baihan, Shahid Thaheem and Naveed Anthony.
Previously CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah had appointed Dr. Khathomal Jeevan was appointed as adviser on Minorities’ Affairs, which was followed by a loud outcry from Christian workers of the People’s Party over non-representation of Christians in the Sindh Cabinet. Consequently, CM appointed Naveed Anthony in the second phase of appointments.
