Terror outfit, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Talibaan has claimed responsibility of MPA- Sardar Soran Singh. Unknown gunmen opened fire on the Sikh lawmaker, as he was returning to his home after attending a function. Soran Singh was affiliated with the ruling party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).
“These activities will continue until implementation of Islamic system in Pakistan,” Muhammad Khurasani, spokesperson for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, said in an emailed statement late Friday.
Sardar Soran Singh, was a special assistant to Chief Minister of KPK on minorities’ affairs as he also held the position of a member of the KPK Assembly. The attackers, who rode motorcycles, gunned him down in a targeted attack near Pir Baba in Buner district on Friday, April 22. He was immediately rushed to a hospital; however, he could not survive.
On the other hand, Khalid Hamadani- District Police official said, “Gunmen riding on two motorbikes came in front of the car and started indiscriminate firing which killed the minister on the spot.” Additionally, SHO of Pir Baba police station- Mir Ghazab stated: “Soran Singh was shot in the head and eye.”
Sardar Soran Singh hailed from Pakistan’ Sikh community. He joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 2011; previously, he was associated with Jamaat-i-Islami.
