Federal Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael condemns heinous terror strike on the Christian Colony in Peshawar. In a statement he came down like a ton of bricks on the terror outfits, saying they are trying to tarnish country’s name and bring a bad repute to it. Four terrorists armed with explosives and wearing suicide vests launched an assault at the neighborhood at 5:50 am today September 2, Friday.
Human Rights Minister stated that terrorists are trying to defame Pakistan by targeting minorities. He further stated that we stand united against the scourge of terrorism. “All Pakistanis are unified against the enemy.”
He also appreciated prompt action from the security forces which carried out an efficacious operation and shot all four bombers. We salute courageous security personnel who had laid their lives for the sake of safety of their fellow countrymen. “May God grants peace and comfort to the families of the victims and complete recovery to the injured as a result of the attack.”
Soon after the attack, the security forces promptly responded while they cordoned off the area. The attackers were engaged by Pakistan Army’s Quick Reaction Force (QRF) initially later reinforcements were sent in.
The assault and operation resulted in killing of all four bombers, and two others including a Levies personnel and a civilian identified as Samuel Masih. Five others including two FC soldiers, a police constable and two civil guards were injured as a result of the exchange of fire with the attackers.
