As Rimsha, the special needs Christian girl charged with blasphemy is waiting for the much needed justice to be done, another incident regarding an 11 year old Pakistani Christian boy has been brought to light.
Police said. The young boy was inhumanly tortured before being killed. On the eve of August 20th 2012, Samuel had headed to the market from his home and not returned. He was last seen by loved ones leaving for the market and no one knew that this would be the last time they would see him, as he would be missing since that evening.
Relatives have stated that Samuel body was found near one of the drains of Christian Colony on Wednesday. This young Christian Soldier for Christ was not even recognized by his own relatives as his lips, nose and belly were cut off and his body was ruthlessly burnt. Samuel’s family was only able to recognize him from the mark on his forehead.
The Pakistani police have sent the body for autopsy.
The residents of Christian Colony along with Samuel’s family have staged a protest, demanding the arrest of the heartless killers. Asia Bibi, Samuel’s mother has informed the police that her family had no dispute or enmity with anyone in the area. She said that “we neither received any phone call for ransom nor were we told that Samuel had committed blasphemy”.
The Assistant Sub-Inspector Shafiq Ahmed said police were investigating all aspects regarding Samuel’s case. He said Samuels’s father had passed away a few months ago and the family was very poor, thus, ruling out the possibility that he was kidnapped for any ransom reasons. “We did not receive a complaint of blasphemy. However we are investigating this aspect as well. The autopsy will tell whether the boy was sodomized,” Ahmed said.
The killing came days after Rimsha, an 11-year-old Christian girl with Down’s Syndrome was arrested by police in Islamabad on a charge of blasphemy for allegedly burning pages of the Quran.
Rimsha Masih’s family and dozens of Christians fled their homes due to threats from Muslims.
President Asif Ali Zardari directed the Interior Ministry to investigate the incident and to provide protection to the Christians.
Will justice be served to this 11 year old Christian boy? Will his killers be arrested? These are questions that remain lingering in the air for the Christian Communities of Pakistan. This is not the first time a Christian has been so brutally murdered but it is a part of being brought to light for justice. We do not know whether justice will be served to Samuel or Rimsha but we do know that the Lord, Our God, will provide justice for those who stand firm in His name and have Faith in Him – He is the Judge in the end.
Please take a few moments to pray for Samuel’s family – for the loss of another loved one and for Samuel may his soul rest in peace, as he has gone home to be with the Lord.
For the only Cause that matters
