Three converts to Christianity facing death in Iran.
Middle East and North Africa programs at Freedom House states,”Reza Raban, Abdolreza Haghnejad, and Bahman Irani are Iranian converts to Christianity who were prominent members of a growing church network in northern Iran but now face serious, unfounded charges.
Without any legal grounds, the Islamic Revolutionary Court in the city of Karaj has charged them with moharebeh (enmity against God) and mofsed-e-filarz (spreading corruption on earth). If convicted, they could face the death penalty simply because of their faith. We believe the Iranian government should immediately drop the charges and release these three defendants as well as all other prisoners serving jail sentences in Iran because of their religious belief or non-belief.”
