Vatican has extended Eid-ul-Fitr felicitations to the Muslims. In a facilitative letter released on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, 2016; the Holy See of the Vatican extended congratulations to the Muslims around the world. The letter contained a call to uphold inter-religious peace and nurture concord between various faiths.
World’smallest sovereign state maintained in its letter that Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr are two most important religious events for Muslims across the globe, which must be revered by all faiths. It was stated in the letter that the Christians must see these events with veneration, as they are considered to be the closest relatives to Muslims.
“On behalf of the Pontificial Council for Inter-religious Dialogue and Christians around the world, happy Eid al-Fitr, a festivity full of joy,” Vatican’ letter stated. The release further encouraged the Muslims to reinforce bonds between Islam and Christianity which are two of most followed religions in the world. Vatican called upon Christians and Muslims to treat each other with respect out of brotherly love.
