Punjab’s Minister for Human Rights and Minorities’ Affairs Khalil Tahir Sindhu has assured that his ministry is working along the lines of a fail-safe policy in order to safeguard the rights of religious minorities’ in Pakistan. He said that his ministry is inclined to ensure that the rights of religious minorities are bestowed upon them.
Provincial Minister for Minorities’ Affairs and Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sindhu was addressing an Eid Milan Party hosted by local Christians in Kasur on July 24. At this occasion, he briefed the audience that government is keen on ensuring availability of human rights to all specially the religious minorities. He added that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights to every Pakistani citizen.
His assurance comes amidst a wave of surge in anti-Christians violence. Abduction and forced conversions of Christian girls is not unusual, along with sexual assaults on Christian females being reported on regular basis. Misuse of blasphemy law against Christians has also caused much nuisance to Christians.
